Acoustic Walls That Feel Natural — A Workspace Renovation in Copenhagen
During the material selection phase, the project team approached GRECHO looking for a surface that could provide reliable acoustic performance while fitting a refined interior design concept. After reviewing the space conditions and usage scenarios, we recommended the Silent Land Series glass veil as the facing material for acoustic wall panels and partitions.
Inspired by natural stone erosion and landscape textures, the material allowed large wall areas to function as both acoustic treatment and architectural finish.
Beyond aesthetics, the project required long-term performance stability in high-use collaborative areas. The glass fiber structure offers high air permeability for sound absorption while maintaining fire resistance and dimensional stability in changing humidity conditions — a critical factor for Nordic indoor climates.
Uniform fiber distribution also ensured panel joints remained visually consistent across large surfaces, allowing the pattern to scale without visible breaks.
After installation, the office environment changed noticeably. Conversations remained private even in open collaboration zones, while the walls visually resembled architectural finishes rather than technical equipment.
The most valued aspect for the project team was flexibility: customized cutting and patterns did not reduce acoustic absorption, mold resistance, or durability, enabling acoustic walls to become part of the interior architecture rather than a compromise between function and design.
