What Healthcare Projects Need from a Ceiling Facing
Project Background
A regional medical center in Tampere, Finland recently renovated its outpatient corridors, waiting areas, and nurse stations to create a cleaner, brighter, and more reassuring interior environment.
In healthcare spaces, ceiling surfaces are expected to do more than complete the visual design — they also need to support daily performance in demanding public interiors. For this project, the client was looking for a solution with the reliability often associated with Fiberglass Veil applications.
The Challenge
Healthcare projects place higher demands on ceiling materials than many other interior applications. The surface needed to maintain a clean and consistent appearance while performing reliably in busy, high-use areas. Moisture resistance, durability, and long-term dimensional stability were all important considerations.
For the project team, this was not simply about selecting a standard surface layer. They were looking for a solution that could reflect the adaptability of a Versatile Fiberglass Veil, the protection level associated with a Waterproof Fiberglass Veil, and the refined finish expected from a Coated Fiberglass Veil. Fire safety was also part of the evaluation, which made performance expectations related to Fire-Resistant Fiberglass Mat and Fiberglass Mat Fire Resistance especially relevant.
